Social Services

There is a full time Social Worker at each Center. When you are a participant, the social worker is available to assist you with mail and notices regarding your benefits which can be very confusing. The Social Worker is at the Center to help you!

Social Services include:

• Counseling in times of need or distress
  
• Assisting with the application for benefits or services
  
• Coordinating your services with other community organizations
  
• Facilitating support groups
  
• Providing educational programs for you and your family or caregiver.

My name is Cecilio Arias, and I have been attending the Elmwood Adult Day Health Care Center for approximately two years. I was introduced to the Center thru a recommendation. I was told this center was for older people like myself who felt alone, forgotten, and needed to socialize. I must say since the first day I attended the Center I have been delighted. I have received so much help thru the center when it comes to filling out applications to receive benefits, setting my doctors’ appointments/transportation and most important to me, becoming a U.S. Citizen. Attending the Center has been a blessing to me and all of my fellow friends here at the Center. We are like a family and we can always count on the support of the staff. I have a lot to be thankful for and this place is one. I highly recommend you come by and take a look for yourself.
